Excavations of the site began in the late 18th century, but it wasn’t until the mid-20th century that the archaeological digs were completed, uncovering the theater in its earliest state. Today, the site hosts performances all year round. You can see classical plays and musical performances if you drop by during the annual Greek Theatre Festival. It’s a real experience to sit on the bleachers of this ancient theater.
