Naoussa or Parikia?

Right in the heart of the Aegean Sea, in Greece‘s Cyclades Archipelago, lies Paros, one of the most beautiful Greek islands and a top tourist destination in the region. The island lies to the west of Naxos and is home to superb windsurfing and kitesurfing spots, magnificent beaches, pretty fishing ports and numerous traditional villages. In addition to Lefkes and Antiparos, the most famous towns on the island are Naoussa and Parikia. Our heart sways between Naoussa, a chic seaside resort, and Parikia, the capital of Paros.

The charms of Naoussa

Naoussa is a must-see on Paros. It lies to the north of the island of Paros and is certainly one of the prettiest and most picturesque towns on the island. It’s full of charm, with its typical houses and alleyways forming postcard-worthy landscapes. It has all the hallmarks of a welcoming coastal village, with its traditional fishing port where freshly caught produce is unloaded. By day, the dazzling white walls contrast with the azure blue of the sky and the turquoise of the sea. Strolling along its winding lanes or taking a scooter tour is a real pleasure. You can admire the houses and enjoy the gentle atmosphere. You can visit the immense Church of Naoussa, push open the doors of luxury boutiques and renowned restaurants, and linger on the sublime golden beaches of Kolymbithres, Agios Ioannis and Monastiri. In the evening, the streets of Naoussa come alive with charming boutiques and restaurants. Tables in the best restaurants are available by reservation in high season. Facing the sunset, the harbor and the sea, you can enjoy freshly grilled seafood. You can stay in this luxurious villa, nestled in a vast estate of lush vegetation overlooking Kolimbithres Bay.

Parikia’s attractive traits

Parikia, the capital of Paros, lies in the west of the island. The town has plenty of character, with its typical narrow streets, beautiful traditional Cycladic houses and fishing port. That’s why it’s so popular with visitors. Strolls along the seafront and water sports are a must, but so are strolls through the white streets. These are paved with large pebbles, adorned with flowers and lined with boutiques and antique stores, while the cafés and restaurants also come alive at nightfall. The list of things to see in Parikia includes the magnificent Ekatontapiliani church, the windmills, the 13th-century Kastro, the Venetian castle in the old market, the main port and the archaeological sites. On the heights of the town, on the cornice of Giannis Parios street, the panorama of the Aegean and the sunset leave visitors in awe. Parikia is also home to numerous clubs, bars and nightclubs where you can go out and party. For your accommodation, choose this magnificent villa, located in a quiet, relaxing spot near Parikia, facing the village harbor. It’s ideal for relaxing and exploring the capital of Paros.
